Q: Is Bridgewater accredited?

A: Yes. Bridgewater is accredited through the National Association of Private Schools (NAPS) and AdvancED, the world's largest education community, representing 27,000 public and private schools and districts across the United States. The U.S. Department of Education recognizes this accreditation.

Q: Are Bridgewater teachers certified?

A: Yes. Only certified teachers, well-versed in their specific subjects, meet the Bridgewater standards. With specialized distance learning experience, teachers are uniquely qualified to support students' academic success.

Q: What grade levels does Bridgewater serve?

A: With courses in the core subjects of math, language arts, science, social studies and a wide variety of electives, Bridgewater offers a comprehensive and robust learning environment for students in grades 3-12.

Q: Are Bridgewater courses transferable, and are transcripts available?

A: Yes. As in most accredited private or public school, credits earned at Bridgewater can be transferred to other schools, and we accept credits earned at other accredited schools. Transcripts are available upon written request from other schools and colleges.

Q: Who will issue my students' high school diplomas?

A: Bridgewater's partner schools issue diplomas to graduates from their own institution. Students who enroll full-time and earn six credits from Bridgewater will receive their diplomas from Bridgewater.

Q: Is Bridgewater's high school diploma accepted by major colleges and universities?

A: Yes. As long as students meet specific course requirements for the college they wish to attend, AdvancED accreditation helps to ensure Bridgewater diplomas are accepted by most colleges and universities.

Q: Does Bridgewater meet my state's academic standards?

A: Yes. Bridgewater's curriculum is correlated with the academic standards for every state. Our course customization tools allow schools to adapt course to meet the specific needs of individual students or schools.

Q: Does Bridgewater limit the number of courses my students may take?

A: No. Students may take as many courses they choose or as a partner school permits.

Q: Do students have a time limit for completing a course?

A: Yes. Students have 12 months to complete one school year's coursework. A semester is 90 days or approximately four and a half months. Students enrolled in a one-semester course have six months to complete the course. With 24/7 access, time “in class” is adaptable to each students learning pace.

Q. How long is a typical school year at Bridgewater?

A: The school year lasts nine months, or 180 days, much like a traditional school calendar. To allow more flexibility, students may have up to one calendar year to complete a school year's coursework.

Q: When can a student or partner school begin Bridgewater?

A: Our rolling enrollment and partnership process make it possible to accept new students and schools into our program any day of the year.

Q: What services must my school provide as a Bridgewater partner?

A: Because our program is flexible, partner schools can choose which services will be provided by Bridgewater and which they will retain. Generally, enrollment is the only service essentially provided by a partner school.
